Cultural Reimagination Series

The Cultural Reimagination Series consists of paintings that recreate iconic, Western portrayals of beauty, such as by Fragonard or Klimt, by incorporating Korean beauty standards, clothing, and art styles. Each painting is a Korean recreation of a famous era of Western painting, and select works incorporate Korean art styles from the same time period as the Western painting.
